The Adventure Begins
Happy new year and welcome 2020s!
As the turn of the decade begins, it marks a period of hope and enthusiasm to start something new and living out our fullest lives. Where do we want to be a year from now? Where will we have traveled in the next 5 years? And what will we accomplish by — dare I say it — the end of this new decade?
Before we get to that, it is a good idea to take a quick look back at the past year. For me, 2019 consisted of listening to over a thousand hours of financial independence (FI) and real estate podcasts, reading books on FI and personal development, and discussing these topics with like-minded (and not-so-like-minded) friends. These were the catalysts towards a self-awakening and served as some of the most defining moments of my past decade.
Looking forward, this post is the first step towards doing what Grant Cardone refers to as the 4th degree of action — taking massive action. This blog is my commitment to all minority communities, to the world, and most of all to myself.
As the blog name suggests, I am a Latino in the pursuit of FI. This website will serve as a record of my journey and is an invitation for everyone to contribute, learn, and engage in discussions regarding FI. The plan is to also create content in Spanish to better serve the Latino non-English speaking community which typically does not have easy access to these concepts and information. Part of the package is to engage in public discussions by hosting local meetups and events to learn about the different options available when pursuing FI. While I am not the expert in any one topic, by joining others we achieve levels greater than the sum of all the individual minds. Naturally, topics of greater interest will be explored in greater depth before moving onto more obscure ideas.
At a high level below is what this blog aims to achieve this year:
In the next post I will write more about my personal goals and how I plan to achieve them. Until next time.
